The "bleedin obvious" would be to get the country's energy needs prioritized and secured. This woman's "add another layer" is absolutely nonsense in 2022. I should be able to warm my home to the level I require without going bankrupt in the process.
For people in the UK to be asked to freeze in their own homes is beyond shameful.

I love wearing more layers in winter and using blankets, drinking tea etc… but I have to have the heating on low to take the chill off of the rooms. If I don’t then it triggers my asthma and I cough constantly. Unfortunately, no amount of layers can stop the air from being cold.

You need to put the heating on periodically during the winter or you are looking at burst pipes & insurance claims! I can't believe we are being cornered into living like this!! They won't put us up in a 5 star hotel because we haven't arrived in a dinghy 😡

The point of the matter here is, we are not stupid, we know how to keep warm and we shouldn't have to go through this! We are being starved, left cold, the excess deaths this winter will be abhorrent by this government. So please stop lecturing us, give us our basic human rights to keep warm and eat. They are hardly luxuries and we are not a third world country, even though the government are making out we are and turning us in to one 😡

Some of us have answers to the problems created by others . Remove and replace these people and start again . We have given trillions in aid and now we are witnessing no help whatsoever from others ! Stop the ridiculous money giving and send back unwanted criminals . Invest in our infrastructure, hospitals,railways,roads a smaller population is always wealthier and healthier, happier!

I applied for a heating upgrade grant last year. I have 1 star, 30 year old storage and panel heaters.

The government denied my application because apparently I couldn’t afford a £100 per month loan that put on solar panels and added a heat pump. Apparently I couldn’t afford that, but I was paying 300 a month for electricity and these measures were supposed to slash my bills by over 50 percent.

I DESPISE our government. I’ve never taken a government hand out in my life. Never been on job seekers, was an essential worker throughout the entirety of covid where the fascists took my freedoms.

My electricity costs then spiral to 10 pound per day in winter, I ask for help and I then get told there’s this interest free loan if your heating system is sub par. I spend weeks filling out the forms, answering calls, allowing surveyors in, getting quotes. Only to be told “your application has failed to meet the criteria based on your credit score”. Yes I was in a dire financial situation…..THATS WHY I APPLIED FOR AN INTEREST FREE GOVERNMENT LOAN TO UPGRADE MY HEATING.

I lost out on a 10, 000 cash back scheme (which was seperate to the loan) because of the incompetence of our government.

I was an advocate for libertarianism before this. After? I want the entire establishment pulled from its roots and set on fire.


I genuinely believe our government are our oppressors because they cannot be this stupid. You cannot go through the most expensive schools and network with the elites and run an economy this badly unless it is intentional.

Saw Alice Beer in Tetbury, just before the Covid lockdowns .
She was buying expensive antique furniture, so I guess heating bills aren't an issue for her.

Damage to property can happen even in modern buildings depending how much moisture is in the air. Also your going to end up w/ more people sick.
