Is There Life After Death?

Is there {life after death}? A woman who recently lost her father has had several experiences since his passing that suggest this is true. She asks Rupert to talk about [what happens when we die.]

Rupert says: ‘If the body is the image of a localisation of consciousness, then, when the body dies, consciousness de-localises and goes back to itself. But it doesn’t go back to itself in one go. Just as it takes time for consciousness to localise as a body, it takes time for consciousness to de-localise. There may be an interim period, a kind of dream state, that takes place after the so-called death of the body and before going back to infinite consciousness.

‘So, yes, I do think that your father’s mind may continue unravelling in a way that is consistent with whatever its activity was during his life. But his being will remain where it always is – in your heart, as your being. During his lifetime you knew his being as your being. That is the experience of love that you felt with him, and nothing has changed in that experience now.’

I was told in a NDE that I was never born and I never die. I was simply isness. I exist in multiple dimensions and experience the one I choose to focus on . When I went into a NDE I had overwhelming and magnificent feeling of coming home and knowing everything. It was as if I had been trapped at bottom of dark well and burst out into glorious sunshine.

He doesn't know. He has his idea of what happens, but doesn't know for sure, as all of us. The power and humbleness of "I don't know" still works. 🎉❤

Bizarre how we need to know. Our mind just can’t accept the unknown. I think we just want someone to tell us what we want to hear so we can feel peace.

I didn't love Rupert's answer to this question, though I don't disagree with his answer. I doubt that it was much comfort to the young lady. To the young lady: You said your father had been manifesting to you in some ways after his death. There is your answer. If you haven't already, listen to NDE experiences. There are thousands of them available. I think you would find them enlightening and comforting.

Sometimes the actual words are not the most important, but the intent within. What I feel in Rupert’s response, is simple gentleness. Before we learnt our caregivers’s language, it was the tone that appeased or stressed us

“I have no fucking idea” would have been both more succinct and more honest.

Rupert has insight and wisdom not many of us can't understand right now. How can there be life after death when the characters of a dream are just in our imagination to begin with. We just wakeup and we all share the "soul" of the one infinite dreamer. There are no egos.

Dear Rupert, there is a happiness in not knowing

I had a scary dream and in the middle of it, I thought “ I don’t have to do this, I’m just dreaming” and the dream instantly changed to something else. We can know we are dreaming.

Just because your very quiet in tone, and take forever to give your answer, doesn’t make you know anything more than the rest of us.

Near Death Experiences show that there is still a localized aspect of consciousness after death, and while the transition is seamless, you do actually realize that your body died, because you will be viewing it from a different perspective. Not to mention, "souls" go through some type of life review as well.

My late partner showed up and she said "Why have you stopped living? I didn't expect you to die when I did"

Many comments here said that the teacher should have anwered with 'I dont know' or 'I have no idea'. But when somebody has an insight with a parcular matter, it's better to say it even if he/she understands that all 'thoughts' are just pointers. To say that 'we dont know' what will happen after death is nonsense because there is no death. What is there to know about?! Nothing. So, 'I dont mind' is a better pointer than 'I dont know'.

💥 Despite all the efforts and theories about death, the truth is that we still don't know what happens after the death of the body. The closest thing we have are the Near Death Experiences so far ( NDE ). 🎉❤

thank you! My father passed 4 weeks ago. I know this question was for me too. Thank you Rupert, your response gives me ease... even though I know we are eternal . ♥🙏 My father shows up in my heart, I feel him . In nature I sense his spirit hovering wherever I am.

The non dual teachings seem to me to be the truth apart from the general description of what happens after death. Somehow the explanations given all make it seem like this lifetime we're all living is pointless. Actually for my own personal self it doesn't worry me too much, but I have a hard time believing we will never know our beloved relatives ever again and that they will just dissolve and/or be reborn, and this lifetime will just be forgotten. It seems like a waste of time, and not so much the truth.

Among all the explanations he gave concerning this subject, this is, by far, the best perspective he offered and the most clear. If the mortal body takes a while to actually die (beyond the time the doctors pronounced it dead), then the subtle body will also go through the same transition before it joins the rest. There is no death. There is only life and its ever-changing forms. A single water vapor (subtle body still in localized form on its way to transition) does not turn into a rain; it first joins with other water vapors to make a cloud - and that cloud must be heavy enough to turn into a rain. But the transition does not stop there for the rain turns into rivers, oceans, etc. and then back to vapor. Human life is highly likely to be the same. But the persona surely dies and does not continue for eternity. Only life is eternal.

Reading the comments, it's clear that this video is very triggering for many

Even though I love Rupert, I don't think this answer, or any of his answers about life after death are particularly useful. I hope he will read several hundred NDEs and incorporate the valuable knowledge (common aspects) into his teachings.
