We need to talk...
About your upcoming product design.
I have heard so many times from MCU customers, that they do countless meetings about:
-How much performance the application demands?
-Can I run a graphical user interface AND real-time tasks?
-how much memory does the system need.
-... and Is the platform future proof, in terms of memory and security?
I guess in many cases that discussion ends up with a Linux based microprocessor solution. Right?
That’s true, but not all companies have MPU and Linux know-how, and sometimes the application has real-time requirements which an MCU serves best.
So what can they do?
Behind me is the newly introduced STM32H7RS, 600MHz, Cortex-M7 Bootflash microcontroller.
So, What do i mean by a Bootflash MCU?
It’s an optimized microcontroller, with 64 Kbytes of Flash. Large enough to ensure the classical fast and easy boot of a microcontroller, and small enough to make it the lowest cost H7 to date.
I hope you are intrigued…
First and foremost, it is still a real-time platform, with all the benefits of STM32 microcontrollers.
With the cost-optimized approach we left developers with more freedom to choose external memories, in terms of density, type and performance.
In combination with the large internal system RAM and zero-wait tightly coupled memories, we ensure real-time execution of the most critical tasks.
On top, we made sure code and data remains protected inside and outside of the chip.
Actually our product targets SESIP3 and PSA level three certifications.
And what about graphics?
Beside the general purpose product lines, we are on top offering variants with a powerful GPU called NeoChrom GPU, JPEG Codec and a display controller.
You know what, lets just show it.
Here we showcase a very demanding graphical user interface in 800x480 resolution, with 3D-like effects.

Scaling and rotating images. Full screen MJPEG videos and it blends several bitmaps layers.
All running from external memories and with very low MCU load.
Let me just show you one last thing..
This is one of our latest demos, showing the USB capabilities of the STM32H7RS.
It embeds a USB full-speed and a USB high speed interface with a PHY. It is capable of delivering USB-C power delivery, and dual-role USB capabilities for both data and power.
So what you need is the STM32H7RS to build a secure future proof platform, with enough memory and performance, and best in class graphics option.

You got it!
