Nails can also flare out because they expand and contract in water on a daily basis.
If you have them polished back to back so there's a hard layer of polish, they don't do this and they look less flared relative to any natural flare you have.

I noticed flared ends years ago, but not anymore as I started wearing polish constantly because it's fun.

My natural nails look like this too!!!! I cut like a millimeter from the sides vertically so that they look like the "average" shape for a more feminine look, which is what I personally look for.
