Yup! That is... Absolutely what i would expect would happen if i hit a bush with a warbird! A million pieces immediately flying off my plane... Yup!

That's cool, but it's still sorely lacking a dmage model for the bushes

Hopefully this is leading to the ai not being effected by vegetation at all in regards to aiming their instakill AA

It is just map collision box. Seems to collide with plane coordinates and not the collision boxes of the plane. Ehhh we are discussing ugly implementation of something which is standard in all other games. Not mentioning grass flex and similar effects.

This is the worst part of dcs, now they made it even worse. Congratulations, I'll go crash and disintegrate into a cloud of gas in a 4 inch wide branch.
