"good information" = What Google chooses is good.

Your job is to find relevant sites not determining what's true.

This not just about the Holocaust, this about silencing any opposition view that are not in line with with googles Masters.

Why is this in my recommended? You need to convince me that you don't pick and choose what I see?

Just your friendly reminder that the same tech giants (google, youtube) that preach 24/7 about the “dangers of misinformation” also don’t want you to know about the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act.

It seems that Google's mostly Indian staff are themselves authorities on European history. It will be no surprise to actual scholars that one particular event comes to the fore as producing counterintuitive results. It's a shame that they can't offer a choice of algorhythm, so that people can choose their own quality and focus of search.

The use of the words "authoritative" and "authority" in justifying promoted sources raises some really important questions as to the sincerity of Google, not to mention the value of free speech in a free society. The definition of "authority" is: "1. the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience", and "2. a person or organization having power or control in a particular, typically political or administrative, sphere." (ironically from the first google search result). Imagine we lived in the time of Copernicus, who claimed the Sun, rather than the Earth, was at the center of the solar system. By Google's logic and policies, just like the Catholic Church at that time, such theories would be suppressed and only the established and conventional scientific theories would appear in the search results.

Trustworthy authorities? Sure, because experts are solely driven by facts and are always unbiased and correct, right? What you are doing is disabling dissent. Sounds more like authoritarianism if you ask me.

The world of ideas is a big place. And some of us are grown-ups. And quite well-informed and -educated... often better than the folks at Google. So why not just add a couple of options under the "Tools" button, or prominently elsewhere, instead of deciding in advance what people should see and think? "We the People" don't want our lives being run by (in Newspeak) Miniluv, Minipax, Miniplenty, Minitrue, etc. And we certainly don't want to end up in Room 101, Thank You...

Change the title to "Why Google will be broken up into pieces for trying to become ministry of information of Brazilia"

That was a good way to fight misinformation. People who popular for their information are famous for a reason. They provide correct knowledge almost all the time. Superbly marvelous like always, Google.

These are useful as well for Google to access the Mobile Web. 😊

Simple, it sees if it is from a left or right leaning source, and it uses the left news.

You should not let CNN go to the top, that is simply ridiculous (!)
