One caveat to this- the seasons affect this dramatically. In the summer I go to sleep a little later because the sun is up longer, and in the winter I’m in bed earlier because it’s dark.

Since you've mentioned LMNT, I'd like your take on the Maltodextrin situation. Granted, the amount of 4 mg that they said they have as part of the natural flavor profile turned out to be between 250 and 550 mg, which is a huge increase in a high-glycemic compound such as maltodextrin, but it still doesn't amount to a noticeable change for most people. However, going into the science around it and being curious would help, so if you can kindly shed some light on it and help people think with a more rational approach than being emotional and reactive, it'd help a lot.

Thank you for your consistent efforts, Thomas! Much love from Libya (Probably your only / biggest fan from here 🤓)

The concept of health in "The 23 Former Doctor Truths" book completely explains this. I wish I read it sooner.

I drink tart cherry juice at night. I prefer how it tastes when it warmed up so it’s like drinking tea so it puts me in a more relaxed mood. I believe aside from sleep it helps with inflammation as well.

Tom, favour! Can you do a video aimed at some strategies for first responders? I love this chanel and your scientific approach is a gift to folks trying to live healthier lives. I do everything I can: 5 x 1 hour hypertrophic workouts a week, same for cardio (judo), watch my GI's and work on insulin sensivity daily, protein oriented, get my fuel from fat not carbs (and never the two together), zero booze... but my sleep hours ALWAYS change and I'm always running in a sleep deprived state (no realistic control over that short of quiting my jobs, law enforcement and paramedic, working 7 days a week). What are some strategies for offsetting this incredibly harmful negative sleep cycle?
Appreciate you brother!

Tart cherry is great for helping me sleep and it also is the single best way I've found to treat gout as I'm allergic to alopurinol. Excellent video as always Thomas, thanks.
Kick the donkey? Uh, wut? lol

I totally agree with fasting being optimal for so many reasons, however I can never sleep when I’m hungry! 😩 It’s a constant conundrum for me….

I've gone 30+ years with ABSOLUTELY 0 circadian rhythm (since I became a teenager when I started staying up all night drinking many nights). It's been for a lot of different reasons over that time, but I go anywhere from all nighters to falling asleep putting my son to bed at 8:30 pm. Probably somewhere between 11pm and 2am is most common with about 5 hours of sleep. Get up a little more consistently, but still all over the place. I'm sure consistent sleep would certainly be BETTER, but these studies are kind of overblown. I'm 6'4" 225 and have never been much over 20% body fat even while over eating and not exercising. I've taken lots of supplements and things like creatine since the 90's. I have significant heart disease on both sides of my family. I had CT angiography 2 years ago and the cardiologist said my heart and arteries look great!!! Don't get TOO caught up in the hype.

What if you work night shifts?
Like 12 hour night shift.
Because when I’m off I switch to a day shift schedule.
Because that is the shift the rest of the world is on.
Back and forth.

Fasting past 3 or 4pm is super powerful for me. Not always the easiest but powerful.
