Always wear safety glasses while using wire wheels!

You get attachments for a compressor to block the ends up, heat up the dings and they’ll pop right back out bro happy riding😎

Nice to see someone make the old pipe nice again rather than throwing it in the trash and buying a new one. Also this is why I prefer chrome pipes. No rust and I think they look just as cool

A few tips and tricks for ya. To hold the exhaust better. Use a bench vise, preferably bolted to something, with some soft jaws (non marring) or with layers of paper towels. Wd-40 isn't bad, but there are other liquids better suited to the task you were doing. Yes you can use wd-40 as a lubricant and penetrant and cleaner and many others, but there's a reason why the dedicated liquids exist and are bought by everyone. The dings and that big dent can be pulled out, idk the best method but ik something to do with heat works. I also know you can hot glue sticks or tack weld lil metal sticks on and pull the dents out that way too. There are cut and polish compound kits available for last step finish to make it really shine. You may be able to use the buffing wheel you already bought to apply those. The wire wheel is all well and good but it will only do so much. Using progressively higher grit sanding followed by the cut and polish compounds will really help to make it look brand new. And if you want to protect it from further rusting, some high heat paint will do well. Of course all of this costs extra time and money and I understand not wanting to do much more than what you already did. Just some extra suggestions.

Looking good! Consider some yellow (FMF color) high heat engine paint for the "FMF" on the badge. A shot of color adds 5hp+ 😜👍 Keep doing what you do 👍‼️

A good lye bath or evaporust works good too. Helps if you add some heat. Also just throwing it in a bond fire works

Wd40 after every was and it will look fresh and clean for years. Ive had dozen of those. Rust was never the problem, but racing with 450s on a rocky track.. few broken knuckles and fingers from it and those damn rocks made some nice dents and punctures on the pipe along the years I raced. Its ridicilous what 450s tire can throw at you; some fist sized rocks coming at you at high velocity, and you are coming towards the rocks at high velocity too and thats a not so good combo.

Rust remover with wire wheel. Name brand good toilet bowl cleaner and a scotch bright pad and switch with sos pad. Then heat the welds with a torch smoothly. And mppl or wd40 after every ride every wash will keep it looking fresh

Use a angle grinder . Or sand blast and a fine sand paper.

Evaporust works really well too, its reusable and works best if you "boil" the part in it.

Tin foil and dish soap works wonders also. Scrub it with the crumpled up tin foil with the soap and water.

You can get the same wire wheels for a grinder and it would be much faster. But if a drill is all you got it works too!
