I’ve found that using 2 eqs works better for me. The first would be early in the chain and used as a “reductive” eq. The second would be after compression and as an “additive” eq. To each its own! Great video 🔥

Is this template also set up for recording? Or am I gonna have to send the main vocal and adlibs and backing vocals to the master while it’s also sent to the effects and automation? Edit: I think it ain’t cuz when I would go to record on it it would only pick up the effects from my main bus and it wouldn’t pick up the effect bus or the automation bus

U know what works better and trust me on this one (1 phase) put the eq infront of the compression and cut the frequencies u dont want to boost (aka all the frequencies except the ones he boosted) just use a simple 3 band ore whatever just use a wide band on them

What that does is it gives you more headroom on those "non boosted" frequencies after the compression therefore you vocal sits tighter in the mix

Otherwise (like he did) you also compress the frequencies u dont want to boost but now you are already working with a compressed signal + u are now boosting ur "wanted" frequencies on top of that

But besides of that a good video ✌️

Just remember if u want to boost something cut around that "need boost" area
