I liked this "challenge" idea of finding the cheapest set-up. Can't wait to see you work your magic on it.

Great concept for a video, man! Would be awesome to see this for more consoles.
Too bad the Rocketeer game is not as good as the movie, heh!

Great idea for a project. Give that S-Famicom a good dunk in the bath. I would have gone with that boxed version because I'm a sucker for boxes/art.

I'm so glad you picked up the graffiti console 😂 But there were so many accessories that I haven't seen before. Definitely got your work cut out cleaning the console up but I hope you keep the messages if you can.

Fantastic finds Scruffy! If ya get the chance, you should do Sega Saturn next. I've heard that they are more common in Japan than in North America.

Hmm, looks like that SFC was drawn on by a girl (Megumi), and there seems to be references to someone else (Maa-chan). I think there was a similar PS1 or other old console make the rounds on Japanese twitter a couple months ago. You should post a pic, maybe the original owner or friend will see it.

I enjoyed this format Scruffy. That personalized console is a riot. Should you decide not to encase it in clear Carbonite, the before and after pics should be striking!

Outstanding video. I have only subscribed a few months ago but this is my favorite upload so far. Looking forward to the refurbishing process to come. Excellent idea for a series where you do this exact thing but with various consoles.

Excellent video as usual SLRGB
I like that you gave a try to all the shops and ended up mixing the purchases to get the best deal overall. Below $20 for a full SFC is hard to bit

I got 8 super famicoms with 14 controllers from buyee for 38 euro. Shipping was 98 to Ireland. Customs and vat 25 % so it works out 20 euro each roughly.

This was awesome! I'd like to see more of these and if possible squeeze in a part of the video of the items being refurbished 😄 But this was really cool!

It was fun seing a hunt for parts! It´s something you can do when you have plenty of time in Akihabara. The Rocketeer though, ugh! I bought a cheap cart some ten years ago and was luckilly able to sell it. I´d be better off with one of those baseball games...
