Do you know if they are safe plant 7 feet from your house? I’ve heard other willows will damage your foundation.

How close can one grow next to a house? I have a mature one about 15 feet tall at my new house that planted itself about 2.5 feet away. I am wondering if I should cut it down. I love the fragrance and drought tolerance of these trees. They do great here in New Mexico.

Can I transplant a 2 yr old desert willow tree? Its about 6 ft tall. I'd do it when it was dormant, and cut it back to about 3 ft tall, and aim to get a good square foot of root ball...is that possible? Or would I kill it?
