I’ve seen it once while on a flight. They used it for 15-20 mins, put it back in the case, & used their phone for the next hour or so

The topic is covered partially.
What about:
- The glass front
- Metal construction throughout
- The expensive but not very useful band

The Vision Pro is one of those things that's very well executed, especially compared to competing products. But the after the novelty wears off, the questions Apple still can't answer are: "What is this product for? Why do I need it?"

Once Apple Vision Pro hits the Quest price range, it’ll take OFF

Apple doesn’t need to remove anything from the Vision Pro to make it cheaper. They are already charging over 200% of what it actually cost to manufacture it.

There’s no reason to have an outward facing screen and sensors. Focus on the user experience and make it less than half the weight.

The Vision Pro is the new gold Apple Watch.

Is there any fact base info out there on how much it cost Apple to build the Vision Pro. Just wondering how much of a profit they are making off of it and how much room is there to reduce the sales price.

What I would find more interesting than all these VR headsets is to remove all the displays, keep all the cameras and other sensors, shrink it down in size and weight and provide audio feedback to the user about their immediate environment for vision impaired persons.

I am very happy with my Apple Vision Pro. I mostly use it to watch movies and the relaxation/meditation apps to unwind at home. I may not use it everyday but it is great to have when I need some escapism.

If you have AirPods for Spatial Audio and a nice movie to watch such as Avatar, there is no better way to watch a movie.

I think there is tons of potential with it to create nice rides or experiences that you see at the Disney Theme parks such as that Pandora ride in Animal kingdom. If they can make a nice feedback chair to go with it, that would be insane but I know that may be a fantasy more than a reality.

Vision Pro was not another Mac moment, the first PC is a much more impressive achievement than making an extremely overpriced VR/AR that many others have tried multiple times.

If you're wearing and using an Apple headset, watch, ear pods and iPhone...you're basically an Apple cyborg. You've been assimilated into the Apple collective.

I will get one, but this one just isn‘t there yet

Yes, sounds like a plan. Ditch the front display, use cheap displays with low resolution, remove speakers and have to use AirPods instead, remove tapping detection and have to use an Apple Watch instead, remove cameras and stick the cameras in your ears instead, remove the CPU and connect it to a Mac Mini that you can wear in a backpack while using the device.

They could sell it as a package so you have everything you need to run it (Vision, Watch, Pods, Phone, Mac...) for 6, 999.-

*Now I see why  has called it Vision ‘Pro’ from the start.*

I was all for it when it was released. Then I tried two demos at an Apple Store and knew it wasn’t for me. Super uncomfortable and I had eye strain within 10 minutes. Don’t know how a cheaper model would help…

We don’t need a cheaper version that is even less capable. We want a headset that actually can do useful things, which is what the Vision Pro is failing at.

If Apple wants you to make this more widely adopted they need to lower the price. $3500 is way over priced. Bring it down to what the iPad Pro 12” costs. Until then, this will be a very limited product that 90% of people will just skip. It’s going to end up like google glass back in the day. Google over charged for that device and now it’s not a thing anymore.

If apple can make it smaller, lighter, and more comfortable than a Meta Quest 3, that would be very interesting to see.

Meta is currently working on AR smart Ray-Bans, so Apple has their work cut out for them.
