How to Repair a Smart TV that Keeps Rebooting (Samsung)

Smart TV keeps rebooting? TV won't stop power cycling? This video might be just the thing you need to help you troubleshoot and repair the issue. Our 55" Samsung would continue to power cycle after a thunderstorm and we lost several other devices, so I'm sure it was due to a power surge. This shows you the process of getting it repaired. So instead of spending $100s on a new TV, I was able to repair it for only $70. I hope this video is helpful and if you have any questions, feel free to comment below. Peace and God bless!

Thank you for this video! I already bought a new TV after having this exact problem, but I'm going to try and fix and sell the old one so to pay for the new one (and to keep it from going straight to the dump)!

Thank you! My 2020 TV started doing this, and I assumed it was the power supply board, but now I know it can be something else. I already got a new TV to replace it, so I feel confident that even if I mess the whole thing up, I can at least try to fix the old one!

This is exactly what my tv has started doing. It started acting funny over the last few weeks. Switching to Samsung tv plus randomly, now it turns on and off without stopping. I’ll try to get a new board! Thanks!!

Nice video. I have an Oled S95B and I will be changing the boards as soon as they come in. unfortunately, I think it may be the panel that is bad. Panel cost over 2k from Samsung. I have an old LG Oled B1 that's still working just 1 year?!?!

Most faults are panel faults check the leads that go into tcon board disconnect one at a time to see if tv stays on, if not then could be logic board.
By placing thin paper or plastic tape along some of the pins on faulty control lines can fix the problem, plenty of Asian examples of fixes for many faults.
Just be careful to disconnect mains before doing anything

You probably don't have to take your TV apart!
Now, I've tried all the tips mentioned in several of these videos. Some worked for a few minutes but then the problem began anew. But I continued to look and finally, I found the solution that REALLY WORKED! In a forum I read where someone posted a response from Samsung Support regarding this problem:

"Turn off the TV, disconnect it from the power supply and any other cable that is connected to it (HDMI, USB, etc). Once disconnected, identify the power button on the TV and hold it down for 60 seconds (with the TV off). Plug the TV into the electrical current (without turning it on). Wait 15 to 20 seconds with the equipment turned off and after this time turn on the screen."

Since doing that, I've had no further problems, even after re-connecting my Blu Ray and DVD players as well as the hard disk for recording and plugging back into the extension cord. Everything now works perfectly!

I had to disconnect main board ribbon from power supply board to confirm 13v output. Otherwise output was around 9v. Also having main board disconnected plugged AC and noticed power supply board stopped restarting. Which confirms something is wrong with main board. Thanks for this troubleshooting video

in short on one thread one guy stated that not even the samsung repair guy cold fix it.. that after weeks the last repair guy let it slip that it was some dead man switch stuff samsung incorporates to protect the tv components from damage due to power surge.. this problem is really annoying

My TV is doing the same thing except I have sound, that would mean I would need to change the smaller board at the bottom right? The tcon board? Or would I still need to change the soundboard.

I just had a clients tv start to do this suddenly. Seems like there’s a few people with this.
Could it be a bad firmware update by Samsung?

i think most of us got the same problem of it wont even display at all only the back light then will just keep turning on and off. remote is no help. so ill try the Tcon remove and put back and get back to you guys on it. but from my research its a common samsung tizen issue. the repair guy told me its useless and he had like 5 with same issue and he suggested a new tv. but ill try this here and get back to you guys..
