From 6 to 18 November, Heads of State, ministers, and negotiators, along with accredited observer organizations, climate activists, civil society representatives, and CEOs will meet in the Egyptian coastal city of Sharm el-Sheikh for the largest annual gathering on climate action.

The 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) – COP27 – will build on the outcomes of #COP26 to deliver action on an array of issues critical to tackling the climate emergency – from urgently reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building resilience and adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change, to delivering on the commitments to finance climate action in developing countries.

The objective of the webinars was to brief SWA partners and focal points in countries on the preparations that are taking place as part of the organization of the #COP27 Water and Climate Pavilion, the Water Day and the AWARE Initiative.

The webinars showcased how countries are preparing their delegations to attend COP27 and provided the opportunity to discuss how WASH stakeholders can brief their country delegation representatives so that they are ready to discuss with other parties at COP27 how water should be reflected in the outcome document.
