GoPro Inside a Watermelon - Time Lapse (128 DAYS)

Usually I film stuff from the outside, or I put some other stuff in things, but this time I decided to put a camera inside the subject itself. I filmed the inside of a watermelon for as long as possible, capturing its collapse and the entire decomposition process until it dried out completely.

Can you give me a better idea as title of this video? Something that makes more people to click on it, but not clickbait :) Let's see!

this is dimensions more visceral and horrifying than the timelapses you've filmed of actual rotting meat

i'm sure people have already mentioned this, but this really captures the feeling of being inside some kind of decomposing beast's stomach. cool as hell

the biofilm was oddly beautiful, with the bubbles popping up and staying

It really does look like something “new” is being created instead of something rotting. I really liked the perspective of the camera looking up close inside the melon as it went through the process. I was also impressed as to how long it all took. I think this is one of your better ‘lapses, if not at least in the top 5! Good job!
😊❤

It started fermenting so fast! Really impressed the watermelon vinegar managed to strip the paint off the container, too.

no one talkin about how it literally became an icy tundra surrounded by a blood ocean? 4:26
lol it literally sustained life on it for a good amount of time
it literally had a waterfall, the ground was edible, it had hills and it even had a little dock type area

The fact that I was watching this all while eating, proves that my stomach had the strength to withstand this kinda content. Love the music btw.

If anyone noticed the paint being stripped from the container, that’s from the VOCs released from mold as it breaks down fibrous material, such as cellulose.
Mold releases alcohols and terpenes, etc, as byproducts of their hydrolysis, which are ingredients found in paint strippers.

Point being, people are often concerned about mold itself, in their house for example after a water leak/flood, but no one realizes that the VoCs released from mold is actually the most toxic aspect of it inside an enclosed space.

The part with the little bubble structures is a cool concept for some kind of alien landscape

Great video, I really think the red fleshy coloring of the watermelon added to the visceral feeling of it

i know it's pretty obvious, but it was so cool to see the continuous life and death cycles as the watermelon continued to decay. science is awesome.
