Every manager in this window: let’s get our box midfield sorted

Pep: box is out

what's funny is that City basically always start the season poorly. its because they're adapting to the wild new tactic Pep has decided to try. but once they've adapted, they then go on a crazy winning streak and win the league in the final few games

Gotta give props to Pep always trying new stuff every season to finally beat Spurs away. This season they might actually do it.

3 years ago - Small boys pass through everything
Last year - 4 CB - 6CMs and a big Norwegian
This year - RUN B*TCHES
In 3 years - Haaland at Right back, Bernardo Silva wont be allowed to step more then 4 meters from the penalty spot and Ederson as the classic N10. KDB will play in a cast at CB

The rest of the league will soon copy this. But by then, Pep will be using a 3-1-5-1 with a rotating hexagonal midfield or something

Pep has basically laid the groundwork for teams to use 5-6 different tactics for the next decade or so. The biggest trailblazer in football history, more than Sebes, Michels, Cruyff or Sacchi.

"Ederson playing high up the pitch now in that new formation where he's basically an outfield player" - One happy Brazilian boy

Pep Guardiola is truly in a class of his own. While some argue that his success is solely attributed to the unlimited funds at his disposal, I beg to differ. This man is a football genius, operating on a level entirely unique to him. Even Liverpool fans, who may claim that Jurgen Klopp matches Pep's prowess, should acknowledge the distinction. It took Klopp eight years to modify his 4-3-3 system, whereas Pep has continuously reinvented his teams. Moreover, Klopp himself has adopted the box midfield, a tactical approach popularized and perfected by Pep. This underscores just how influential Guardiola is.

Pep is football genius. And its not all about money, Chelsea or ManU spending milions on mid players still not beign able to compete like random players like Mudryk. Pep knows what he wants and get specific players, not always obvious picks.

I've always been bit of a Pep hater I'm being honest but the man is just too good. Hes literally dictating European football as everyone just keeps copying him.

Guardiola has to be the best coach of all time, reinventing his tactics almost every year and rarely fails. He stays ahead of the competition and inspires new football tactics.

I hope fellow Wolves fans watch this video to see how much our formation was ruining Nunes. Dude played out of position for most of his time there.

Pep is more focused on players who won't screw simple passes up, rather than players who can play pinpoint 40 yard diagonals. Considering the precursor to misplacing a simple pass is usually a bad first touch (which themselves are often a result of a poor pass from a teammate), it makes perfect sense that Pep goes for capable dribblers with great ball control. He has done this for most of his managerial career.

Their signings can often do the pinpoint 40 yard diagonals too - but that's very much secondary and down to the calibre of player he tends to have, especially with KDB at his disposal.
