Why you NEED to book your smear test & my screening story

Warning: I talk quite frankly about smear tests, cancer, surgery, vaginas, & everything in between.

In this video, I talk about my experiences with cervical screening and what happened when I had abnormal results. 1 out of 3 people don't have their screening because of fear of embarrassment. I hope my story can encourage more people to book their test today - need a reason? It might just save your life.

Oh Lucy! Your story was exactly my story 20 (ahem!) years ago. I’m pleased to say all smear tests since my treatment have been clear. Getting your smear test done is so very, very important. I hate to think where I’d be, or not, if I hadn’t gone.

I just had my smear test this week and it was the first time I’ve ever been told about HPV (I’m in my 50s). So it thought I would check out some videos. Thankyou for sharing your story. I must admit that when you welled up I was balling my eyes out with you. Then you said you was all clear and I really felt your relief. Best of luck for the future.

Thank you for this. I am 23 and have never gotten tested or had a pap smear or any sort of physical exam in my private region. I am going to make an appointment tomorrow. I'm trying not to stress out. Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful I am so happy for you. It is so important to do these test please please please get the test done. I can remember doing my first one when I was 19 or so And I try to keep up with these ever since now I am in my 40s. Much love

Bless you for sharing your story, I had the exact same results and treatment 2 years ago. Thankfully, I also got the all clear too 🙏🙏 Smear test are preventive, it takes 10 plus years for cin3 to progress to cancer, giving us time to stop it🥰🥰 I am now anxious about my next smear test, but regardless of my anxiety I know how important it is to book it. im 24 and just been invited by a letter to have my smear test I wont be having my smear test done till im 25 in April that will be the right time for me to have it done I think its very important to get your smear tests done as it gives you piece of mind its better than dying from cancer at a young age and lots of women should never ignore the letter its nothing to be embarrassed about im getting mine done when I turn 25 in April next year I would never ignore a letter like this I know some women dont have smear tests done because they say there embarrassed dont worry its a health check up its only done every 3 years for 25 year olds to 40s them every 5 years for 49 to 64 year olds

I am so beyond happy for you! I had a LLETZ done yesterday for CIN3 and I am now in limbo waiting to hear if they got clear margins and praying it’s not going to come back as anything worse 😥 thank you for sharing and good on you for using your platform to help others ❤

Thank you 💜 I'm 25 and have been getting my regular exam and have actually had some pretty terrible experiences (results fine, doctors/practitioners horrible). And this time I got up the courage to find a new OB/GYN (which after my slew of terrible experiences was nerve wracking) and (actually had a friendly/respectful doctor) I got the news back positive for high risk abnormalities, so I have to have a colposcopy and biopsy and, I've been scared of the procedure and then what if I have CIN3 and have to have the LEEP/LLETZ or cone and will I be okay? Will I never be okay again and your story, I pray your story's reassurance eases me throughout this. I pray mine can end as happily as yours. I appreciate your video.
