Beautiful image of wife and son. Cool technique and effect using encaustic. You're very kind to share these workshops.

Wow this is super! You have explained everything so nicely and detailed from making the medium to working with it! Great video! I have not tried encaustics ever, but I have been wanting to start working with encaustic for almost a year after watching some videos here and watching this 3 video series has really sold me completely on it! Now I just have to wait a few more months until I move back to the states to start it. I can't wait!!!!

very interesting;  I'm just beginning on my Encaustic journey - I've had the materials for a year + however, we moved out of state (FL into NC) &  just getting back to 'my' normal - artistically.  Thanks.  It's interesting that not all encaustic works are "the same" - it's the variety of techniques and I found THIS one (your wife & child) profoundly unique and will absolutely learn & embrace this technique.  Thank you. (btw:  I subscribed)

Thank you so much for this series of videos on encaustics, especially as they are hard to come by. I live in a small city and have to order all of my supplies and if they're from the states which they are I also have to pay a broader fee and taxes as well. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, city unheard of. I am an artist in many, many areas but a newcomer to encaustics, any advice? And when ordering colours which is better-quality or quantity? Thanks again!

Thanks, Jon.  You might try Transfer Artist Paper for encaustic transfers.

Thank you for sharing your work and techniques. I am interested in trying this using some of my photography. What type of paper did you use to print out your image? You mention fibers, which leads me to think you didn't use regular printer paper.
Also, have you experimented with getting more background in your image. Such as seeing some of the ocean water in your picture? Thanks

Jon, Loved your video but I am having trouble when whipping off paper with water sometimes the image/ink of photo come off. Should I add more water? Also, what type of paper to you glue to the board? I am using copy paper and elmer's glue. Thanks

will this work with certain pastels to add color? and is there a method to texture, and to layer images on top of one another?

Can you use melted crayons for encaustics?

Why are you using acrylic paint instead of watercolor? Acrylic and wax do not adhere to each other and it will eventually peel off. Otherwise this is an interesting transfer technique.

Sorry I meant to say wiping off the paper.
