FAA Ramp Check! - #privatepilot

It's awesome being a licensed private pilot. While it is awesome piloting a small general aviation aircraft, it comes with a lot of responsibility. There are a host of rules and regulations pilots must follow to make sure the are operating anything that flies in the air, in accordance with the same. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for making sure the federal regulations and policies are followed by the various institutions and individuals who are subject to them. One of the ways the FAA ensures compliance with the rules, they will sometimes visit general aviation airports and do an inspection, "ramp check" on many of the pilots and aircraft at that airport. This video isn't exhaustive of all of the potential issues that can arise during a ramp check. It is simply the beginning of the things pilots should be aware of and should continue to investigate. I love this aviation journey, and I want to be the best pilot I can be. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this amazing aviation community. Let's fly!

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the “Full stop” requirement is only for night landings, day landings may be “touch-n-goes” unless it’s a tail wheel during the day and that has to be a “full stop”

I’ll never forget the day I was ramp checked - the FSDO guy walks up to me - I say hi Al - he says you know me? Yes, I said - I go to your safety classes. In shock he asks - why are you flying a Cessna, aren’t you a helicopter pilot? I said, yes, I’m going for my commercial SEL add on. He said.. you are…
Then he proceeded to say - the one day I decide to go ramp check - I run into a person who knows me and I don’t remember you.
Too funny - and yes, I had all my credentials for him.

I am curious if they would come up to you while in a preflight or if this you're taxing to the runway and they stop you.
