I have lucid dreams too, the wonderful yet sort of obvious, knowing I am Me, and free. The last sentence is wonderful too - the waking state would call it death, conscousness would call it eternal life - I love that.!

Thank you once again Rupert, for reminding me that "I am the awareness in which I appear to be occurring"...

- Would it be like death?
- The waking state would call it death. Conciousness would call it eternal life.

Can't be well explained!

Great explanation, it reminds me of a lucid dream I had where I was flying down a long, wide corridor with a white door at the end. The door is closed but I am sure I can fly through it, I am uncertain what will be on the other side though. I approach it in full flight without hesitation and easily fly through. On the other side I find myself in a vast crystal clear pale blue sky, theres not a cloud or object in sight, not even any landscape or horizon. I have a realisation that this is the pure empty awareness of my mind where anything could be created, there is a calm peacefulness here but also a overwhelming knowing of the potential that is present.

In Theravada Buddhism Abhidhamma, this state is the Bhavanga mind that takes an object, which is so subtle, that it can not be known. (For more info google "Bhavanga".)

Sometimes when i wake up i feel bliss glowing in my body and my mind starts to ask what was It that i dreamed that made me so happy ? It wants to hold that dream, to hold the happiness. That is ego. For there was no happy dream It was Awareness Being aware of no thing . Aware of itSelf. That is the Real you being you ..We all can feel It when we (mind) is quiet. Love and blessings ⚘🤗 to everyone.

"The most evolved state of consciousness is deep sleep. Every being, big or small, will get a chance to experience the bliss that comes when the mind and self- merger. In this state, the ego is dead and you become one with pure consciousness.

So you can be in the enlightened, non-dual, self-realized state and still get a cold...very informative.

Advaita Vedanta says

when we dream, we are not conscious that the dream is not real. As a character from the movie Inception quite aptly puts it, “Well, dreams, they feel real while we’re in them right? It’s only when we wake up then we realize that something was actually strange.”

But as per lucid dreaming-

some of us are able to enter a dream and be fully aware of the fact that we are actually dreaming.

Isn't this contradictory to the teachings of advaita Vedanta or non duality?

I love my dreams, I'm either having vivid dreams every single time or i will have a lucid/conscious dream at least once a week or so, and it is absolutely amazing, i can travel to far places, and they are not the exact same as what i see in my waking state, yes i still see the usual skyscrapers, cars, houses, buses, trains, aircrafts, shopping centres aha, but it is not the exact same though, it is like it is all distorted or something, like being in a completely different reality.... actually, technically speaking, dreams are just another form of consciousness anyways, without the brain or consciousness, we wouldn't know anything about anything. So really, either dreams are an illusion and reality isn't, or maybe dreams and reality are both illusions or maybe just maybe reality is the illusion. I mean what makes us believe that reality is reality and why are we so stubborn in thinking this?? Why is it that if someone comes up to us and says this could all be an illusion, why do the lot of us laugh and call that person crazy? is it because we know deep down that person is probably right but are too afraid to admit it? Is it that the person is wrong about what they say? Is it our senses, and if so, how exact can our own senses prove to us that what we are experiencing is infact reality and noting else? Or is it that we don't know the truth and because of that, we just think there's no point, if it's real, if it's not real, it doesn't really matter, as long as consciousness is always experienced, then reality or not, it shouldn't even matter? Maybe it's just a meanlingless word (or not) to help us describe a meaning to tell or help us humans to understand our own experience, what we are always experiencing?
