Cyanide Poisoning USMLE Toxicology

Cyanide is a rapidly-acting, potentially lethal poison. Exposure can happen by administration of nitroprusside, or by inhalation in the setting of a fire. Cyanide exerts its effects by inhibiting Complex IV of the electron transport chain, thereby preventing aerobic respiration. The clinical picture is caused by reduced ability to utilize oxygen, and includes tissue hypoxia unresponsive to supplemental oxygen, cherry red skin discoloration, bright red venous blood, and almond breath odor. Treatment involves first administering nitrites and following with thiosulfate, although hydroxycobalamin can also be used.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning can't be fixed with just oxygen at high levels. Many times, a Hyperbuaric chamber is required to push oxygen into the cell.

My apartment complex broke into my house repeatedly and today and yesterday I believe I ate it and then cut the shower on and my ribs and heart and lungs and everything started aching tremendously I will be going to the er now because the er here said it was par something for mold because I told them I was running the shower and then start aching in my lungs and I knew they put it in my seasoning so I threw it all out and my pets are seemingly to be affected too 😞

Trying to find out how many is too many
Eating 2 a day for 3 days so far plus an apple plus pips daily.
I think thats a low amount but could be wrong.
