At character level 32 you should have

* 40 points Quickness boots by character level 32

Generally, spend points evenly between

* Book of the wise
* Overclocked energy

_Tab 2_
Spend 1 point each in

* Energy bolt
* Mini fireball

Split the rest between

* Knowledge is power
* Individual insight

_Other considerations_
Survivability come from

* Armor
* Shield stamp

When reaching beyond world 1, invest in

* Gilded sword
* Mana overdrive

Excellent guide on how to spec a W1 mage. Being my first time in the game I went the weapon power route (as advised elsewhere), but after starting to tinker with the skills you mentioned (before watching this vid) I found they heavily outclassed the weapon power route. After respecing with your recommendations, I gained a ~50% boost in damage (min and max), and a 50%+ gain in experience per hour due to the damage increase. Losses to other skills/benefits were minimal and not missed at all.

People mention that weapon power is nerfed as of W3 and higher. For a mage, I submit that it is completely nerfed until you've already maxed out the skills mentioned here. Kudos on the guide.

I'm not a fan of hybrid builds so is it feasible to go pure weapon damage until around lv 35 before I switch to a chopping build?
