You should give a letter with a "Data Recovery" phone that clearly states: "Even this device might work for sometime, there is no warranty on it, as it was only made to just work again for the purpose of data recovery"

I agree with your hypothesis that it's capacitance with the M1 breakage. I think we discussed that before when you were testing on the plastic perf/breadboards as they add about a 50pF to the line.

Jason what'd you used to do before iPhone repairs? Always in the electronics field? I used to fix TVs. Learning how smps work helped troubleshooting iPhones oddly

I think you should ship data recovery devices with battery disconnected and a note inside the phone that the hardware is faulty. That would still allow making backup with the USB wire connected but it couldn't be used without a wire. And if somebody else is going to reconnect the battery, they get the note.

Do like Chris Long does and hold the logic board by the shield up over the mat a couple inches, then let the board fall to the mat.

I may want to tinker here and there.

Have a LGSylo 5 screen went black yet phone turns on. Noticed was trying to make a call so i removed sim.

Watched a video how to take apart

Except screen have no heat gun

saved all parts screws etc.

So if i take in repair shop would they charge less since I took apart?

the repair shop said to me that my phone is need to replace the lcd and change new one. but i saw in your video is not needed to replace my Lcd.

+STS Telecom what do you use to connect and remove the ribbon cables? How do you know where they connect?

I was going to say by looking at the time left in the video it was obvious the 1st attempt didn't fix it. then on the 2nd chip replacement with a lot of time left you trolled us by adding a lengthy re-assembly! lol. what temperature to get those chips loose? another good video. I have a 5s that is in reboot loops and occasionally does boot up but prob not worth fixing. pretty sure this occurred after a botched screen replacement by friends husband.
