Light goo creatures are kinda a reference to a roblox doors entity called "seek"

Seek is a giant mass of black goo with eyes, which can mold itself into anything, the most common form of seek is the humanoid one, the arm form tries to grab you through the window in the chase scene, seek forms include: mass, humanoid, worm, arm, sludge, etc.

Seek is also the main villain of doors, everything seek touches, gets corrupted, he is powerful, as in the end of the mines when the player opens the castle, seek grabs queen grumble and corrupts her. Grumbles and giggles are now close to extinction as most giggles are corrupted by seek, aka screeches. The adult grumbles will kill their young to stop the goo from spreading.
