Here is the official version of the classic music video for The Connells' international hit single '74-'75.

The song nostalgically reflects on the passing of time and how people change across decades. The music video, directed by Mark Pellington, features students from Needham B. Broughton High School's Class of 1975 and compares the photographs from their yearbook, with how they look and have aged since then.

The track comes from the band's breakthrough release Ring (1993), whose 30th anniversary is being celebrated in 2023 by Craft Recordings, with the album's first widely available vinyl reissue, and bonus-filled CD and Digital Deluxe Editions.

The deluxe editions of the album have been newly remastered by Brent Lambert at Carrboro, NC’s The Kitchen, and include 21 bonus tracks, including rare B-sides and 12 previously unreleased demos. Rounding out the packages are new liner notes by the Raleigh-based journalist and author David Menconi, featuring new interviews with the band.

I’d forgotten how beautiful this is, and how touching the video is. I miss the 90s.

74' - 75', my father was 17 years old. He passed away this week at the age of 65. May God grant him the highest paradise 💖

Probably the most overwhelming nostalgic song ever created.

We were HAPPY in the 90's. But we didn't know. And we didn't imagine how hard and sad our future was going to be. I feel Bad for all of us

Am I the only one who thinks this music video is a real work of art?

As a European, it blows my mind that this wasn't a hit in the USA, The Connells' homeland - it was massive all over Europe, and the video is brilliant as well. Definitely one of my favourite songs of all time!

When the music is worth it, no matter how much time passes, people always come back here to hear it.

Never heard The Connells until today and I randomly clicked on a YT suggestion - how could such a great song have eluded me for 32 years??!

This song should have billions of views.

It precisely captures all these deep feelings of our life.. This life that passes so quickly.. In a heartbeat, in the blink of an eye.

Enjoy every moment...

Thank you for this song

This is one of my favorite music videos ever. It looks low-budget and easy to make but it touches and moves me more than any high-budget/full of special effects music video.

When you realize that 74-75 was much closer in time when the song came out, than 1993 is today...

2:00 this guy left me thinking. On highschool he looks happy and full of life, but next as a grown man he looks like he has a good life (a wealthy life u know) but with a face that looks sad, with a lost gaze... like he lost something, maybe his soul...

OMG, I live in the UK. After I graduated from university I was lucky and got a great job. This was 1995. Every morning as I got ready for work this song would play on MTV or VH1(?), I loved it, there was something so melancholic about it, growing old, looking back on youth, vitality, hopes. It was something that seemed so far away for me. Here I am, now in my 50's. Got a house, job, my family and recovering from a heart attack. I remembered this song, searched for it and blimey does it hit hard now. Have a beautiful life all x
