The argument was about Doctrine.
Paul was not a follower of the law, book of Corinthians( paul created Christianity, after Stephen murder, after paul Jerusalem exile. before it was only judeo-christianity ).
Barnabas was a jew practicing Judeo-Christianity and a greek citizen/polis, he believed Christian's should convert to Judaism first before becoming a Christian (so Paul and Barnabas argued about it and parted ways over it )...

Remember Paul is a Roman citizen(citizenship Mark of the Beast) he was raised in mixed culture, reason why he sat and ate with Gentile (and why he didnt believe in Moses law circumcision or keeping the Sabbath holy ) he had more of a modern remake of zoroastrianism from Isa/Issa Christ/king iza'tes ll(Yazata)) = jesus whom taught a modern form of Zoroastrianism modernly called Christianity.
