Hello Courtney Ryan.
I am a 68 year old man, married 41 years. Happily. I do listen to your videos, and yes I am still learning. There are times when I chuckle at what you say, especially thinking back to the dating stage. A time when all my jokes were funny, her hair was never out of place, she would do and go anywhere I wanted, etc. And I too made sure that I looked my best, was a gentleman, considerate, etc. And we still do! Keep up the good work. I always look forward to the next video.

EVERYONE has time for 10 pages a day. That's actually my method, as well for accountability. That's 3, 650 pages a year. That's a lot of added knowledge and creativity to add into one's mental arsenal. Plus, I truly believe reading too many articles and listicles online is a culprit of short attention spans. Reading actual books trains cognitive function and concentration endurance. You're the hero that YouTube needs but doesn't deserve, Courtney! Cheers to you and Teddy! 🙏

Back in 1983 at the ripe age of 10 my mother sat me down and told me never to leave the house without the following 4 items: a pen, a watch, tissues, and 20 dollars.

I love your channel in general. Very reasonable advice for us mature men to follow, and young men building themselves up. Those out there living on social media wanting to be 20 something forever need to learn from you. Keep up the great channel Courtney!

Hi Courtney, here are a few I think are important: Small hand sanitizer, a hankie, change if u pay cash, moisturizer & lip balm (winter when hands/lips get real dry)

On #3, Watch: Not only better than pulling out your phone, but you can expose the watch by rolling up your sleeves...showing your forearms.
On #6, the bag: Here you can improvise. Try wearing an unlined or unstructured jacket. Layered and loose fit is quite cool and those pockets are not only better than cargo pants but can carry pretty much just as much. Pens inside breast pocket, small notebook, etc. Edit for typos.

I honestly love reading. I have a recliner sofa in my living room right by the window, I open up the blinds and read under the natural light as a way to relax.

Your own pen is super under rated. It's a true luxury not touching grimey pens.

This is a great starting point, Courtney: I agree with everything you mentioned. I wouldn’t have personally thought of a book, but I instead I carry an iPad which provides access to hundreds, among many other valuable apps (after all, how would I view your videos everyday without access to YouTube!). You acknowledged you’re not trying to cover an entire EDC list, but once you get started down this path, it’s nearly unavoidable. One needs to consider fashion (sunglasses, watch), personal grooming (comb/brush, tweezers/nail clippers, handkerchief, mini fragrance sprayer, breath mints, etc.), health (prescriptions, glucose strips, band-aids, etc.), and function (Wireless ear buds, thumb drive, chargers, other tech). I personally cannot live without a pocketable multi-tool like a Leatherman or Swiss Army Knife (which also provide useful items like tweezers, scissors, knife, screwdrivers, pliers, and that all-important wine bottle opener!) and a mini-flashlight. You also need to take into account whether you’ll be local, traveling, or even remote (camping trip?). The items you may need vary quite a bit. I have a pretty extensive list (which I’m not going to share here, lol) but I’d encourage your viewers to sample a few other YouTube EDC vids for some additional ideas. (I’d skip the prepper/tactical defense ones unless that’s your thing). Like you, I’d recommend avoiding the cargo pants and instead invest in a good leather carry bag. Finally, while we’re on the subject, I think everyone should consider what to carry in their car (center console). You don’t need a complete repair kit, but a small flashlight and Emergency Utility knife that can break windshield safety glass and cut through seatbelts can save your life. I have firsthand experience.
