It is truly disturbing how some of the leaders of the church has attempted to sweep this issue under the rug so to speak. It is a terrible thing to try and vilify a brother who was only expressing concern over what he had found. This problem has caused a lot of mistrust in the church leadership. I always wanted to believe Sister White was truly a prophet inspired as were the other biblical prophets, but what has been uncovered has had a profound effect on how I view her writings. One thing I do know is that now this has caused a lot of sincere brethren to question how much is actually truth, and how much is really a LIE, whether deliberate or not. Our only safeguard is truly God’s word!

I was brought up a third generation SDA but after reading two of Ellen White’s books in which she contradicts the Bible I never believed Ellen G White was a true prophet of God, never-the- less, I continued to believed in the Seventh Day Sabbath. It was not until 2012 when the church “took a firm stand” on the Trinity that I was very perplexed and for weeks I earnestly asked God to show me truth of his word “AS HE WOULD HAVE US KNOW”. After studying several passages in the Bible and seeking the truth of who revised the NT I am convinced God is one and there is no other beside HIM.

Anyway, I'm listening to this SDA preacher, I've heard him before; he's an Adventist defender. Jesus once said 'He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.'
I think Pastor Skeete loves the SDA Church more than he loves Christ, and he wouldn't be the first. I fully loved the Church when I was an SDA, but, I wasn't prepared to put it before truth simply because that wouldn't be living in reality; it would be anti-Christ.

The extent to which Ellen White’s status as a prophet has been debunked and the fact that the Adventist church has been so utterly clear as to her elevated status leaves me shaking my head in disbelief that people still put this stuff out there in an attempt to prop this heresy up. Now THAT is an Amazing Fact.

Can a person be an SDA without believing in the writings of Ellen White? Can a person be baptized unless they believe in Ellen White?

Thank you for bringing this information to light. I have been a member of the SDA church for 60 years and I have not been made aware of the extensive “borrowing” by Ellen White. I was warned not to read the White Lie when it was first published. I was told it was from Satan. So I have never read it. I am disturbed by what I am learning.

The Bible says to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God. Also, God said my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, so when we get truth, let's be like the Bereans, such rhe scripture whether what is presented is so. If it is accept it. We need to prove all things and whole fast to that which is good. A good study. So much is revealed. It makes me knowledgeable, that I need to use the Bible as my detector of error. People are satisfied with lies, because it has been peactised for so long.

Not going to defend what some of our church leaders did or say in regards ro EGW, but personally through my research into Bible, two things have come up in relation to her writings and the Bible: 1) What many people disregard or not understand, is that EGW never wrote any of our church doctrines. On the other hand, many of her beliefs can be sustained without the use of her writings. When you read her writings, she quotes the bible extensively. Many of our church fundamental doctrine can be sustained without using any of her writings. That is what i have come to learn to do for myself. If one cannot explain Bible without using scripture and is quoting her extensively, to me that is wrong. Bcoz EGW never endorsed using her writings over the bible. 2) Her copying/borrowing is not really a problem when you realize that bible writers also quote from contemporary sources. Honestly, she herself has already addressed the issue of why she copied in her own words, surprised why no one uses that quote. "Christ is the Author of all truth. Every brilliant conception, every thought of wisdom, every capacity and talent of men, is the gift of Christ. He borrowed no new ideas from humanity; for he originated all. But when he came to earth, he found the bright gems of truth which he had intrusted to man, all buried up in superstition and tradition. Truths of most vital importance were placed in the frame-work of error, to serve the purpose of the arch-deceiver. The opinions of men, the most popular sentiments of the people, were glossed over with the appearance of truth, and were presented as the genuine gems of heaven, worthy of attention and reverence. But Christ swept away erroneous theories of every grade. No one save the world's Redeemer had power to present the truth in its primitive purity, divested of the error that Satan had accumulated to hide its heavenly beauty.
Some of the truths that Christ spoke were familiar to the people. They had heard them from the lips of priests and rulers, and from men of thought; but for all that, they were distinctively the thoughts of Christ. He had given them to men in trust, to be communicated to the world. On every occasion he proclaimed the particular truth he thought appropriate for the needs of his hearers, whether the ideas had been expressed before or not.
The work of Christ was to take the truth of which the people were in want, and separate it from error, and present it free from the superstitions of the world, that the people might accept it on its own intrinsic and eternal merit. He dispersed the mists of doubt, that the truth might be revealed, and shed distinct rays of light into the darkness of men's hearts." RH January 7, 1890, par. 9 - RH January 7, 1890, par. 11

Followers of different Christian denominations interpret the Words of Christ differently. Since Christ didn’t leave a perfect interpreter of His Word, we should share our understanding with others in utmost love & generosity without saying that we know the gospel & Adventists don’t. How do you see it?

They should not try to hide this but I dont see how it affect if EG white is a prophet? Plagerism is not one of the biblical tests of a prophet my brother. Truth is truth... it does not matter who says it. The bible quotes itself many times, without a reference or a an apology.

Good luck pastor trying to alter the thinking of a religious group on any of its fundamental doctrine. Your success would probably be better were you trying to stop the wind or blot the sun out from the sky.
