My Top 5 Procreate Tips for Lettering!

Do you want to know how to make letters look super smooth in Procreate? Here are my favourite tips!

If you want to apply these techniques, download my lettering template and practise drawing your letterforms on top ✨✒️

Here’s what to remember:
1. Ensure that your canvas is at least 3000 pixels wide. Mine is 3000 x 3500 pixels.

2. Use the monoline brush. Then go under Settings then Stabilisation and adjust the Streamline amount. I set mine to 100%.

3. Hold your pen down at the end of your stroke and Procreate will smoothen the curve for you. You can also tap on Edit Shape to move the nodes of your curve.

4. Draw your curves towards the outside. Never draw them towards you. If you need to, just rotate your canvas.

5. Use the Liquify Tool for final touch-ups.

I'd never use procreate for lettering. I use adobe fresco due to unlimited vector control. Colour separation and print ready design vector files. This feature has been here for 10+ year. But i use procreate for art and creative painting 🖼
