🇸🇮 MY FIRST 6 MONTHS IN SLOVENIA – An American Expat’s Incredible Journey! 🇸🇮

I can’t believe it’s already been six months since I moved to Slovenia, and what an unforgettable experience it has been! In this video, I’m sharing my thoughts on Slovenian culture, traditions, food, travel, and the amazing people I’ve met along the way. Moving to a new country is always a challenge, but Slovenia has felt like home from the very beginning.

Summer in Slovenia is absolutely magical! The warm, sunny days are perfect for exploring the country’s breathtaking landscapes, from the crystal-clear waters of Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj to the stunning peaks of the Julian Alps. The Adriatic coast comes alive, with Piran, Portorož, and Koper offering the perfect mix of history, culture, and beachside relaxation. Outdoor lovers can hike in Triglav National Park, go white-water rafting on the Soča River, or explore the mystical caves of Postojna and Škocjan. Festivals and local markets bring Slovenian culture to life, with traditional music, delicious food, and incredible wines. Whether you’re enjoying a sunset by the coast, wandering through Ljubljana’s lively old town, or tasting fresh seafood and farm-to-table delicacies, summer in Slovenia is an unforgettable experience! 🌞🏔️🌊

Whether you’re an expat considering a move to Slovenia, a traveler planning a visit, or just curious about this beautiful country, I hope my experiences give you insight into what life is really like here. From historic cities to breathtaking nature, Slovenia has so much to offer!

🌍 What You’ll Discover in This Video:
✅ My impressions of Slovenian people – their kindness, hospitality, and friendliness
✅ The cultural traditions that make Slovenia unique
✅ Some of the best travel destinations I’ve visited so far
✅ The amazing Slovenian food I’ve tried – from potica to štruklji 🍽️

Moving to Slovenia has been one of the best decisions of my life. From the first day, I was amazed by the hospitality of Slovenian people, the stunning landscapes, and the rich culture that makes this country so special. Every city and town I’ve visited has had its own charm, and there’s still so much more I want to explore.

🌿 If you love nature, Slovenia is a paradise! I’ve already been to Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, Triglav National Park, and the Soča Valley, but I can’t wait to see more of the Julian Alps, Logar Valley, and Slovenian caves like Postojna and Škocjan.

🏙️ As for city life, Ljubljana has completely won me over! It’s a vibrant and walkable city with stunning architecture, delicious food, and a relaxed atmosphere. I’ve also visited Maribor, Piran, Koper, and Ptuj, and each place has left a lasting impression on me.

I knew Slovenia had great scenery, but I wasn’t prepared for how incredible the food would be! From hearty stews like jota and ričet to delicious pastries like kremna rezina (Bled cream cake), every dish I’ve tried has been fantastic. The blend of Mediterranean, Alpine, and Balkan influences makes Slovenian cuisine truly special.

🇸🇮 Whether it’s enjoying a glass of Slovenian wine, eating at a gostilna, or trying homemade štruklji, I’ve fallen in love with the food culture here. If you’ve been to Slovenia, let me know your favorite dish in the comments!

✈️ Where I Want to Travel Next in Slovenia
Even after six months, I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of what Slovenia has to offer. Next on my Slovenia travel bucket list:
🏞️ Velika Planina – A fairytale-like alpine pasture
🏰 Predjama Castle – The famous castle built into a cliff
🌊 The Kolpa River – One of the cleanest and warmest rivers in Europe
🚂 The Bohinj Railway – A scenic train journey through the Alps
