I understand that learning a 2nd language as an adult isn’t easy, but is he trying to? He has been in the major leagues for a decade. My niece married a missionary and lived in Russia, and learned enough Russian in 5 years that she taught English classes to the Russian people. I am 73 and am studying German as a second language. There are online apps. The main point is...here in the US we have Spanish language TV networks, Spanish language signage, etc. but sometimes an individual is NOT going to have an interpreter around. I and my friend have traveled all over, I have been to almost 30 countries and he’s been to over 60, and English is spoken everywhere.
