Gorgeous pair of OGs! I don't know if any are still in existence but around 1992 Nike brought out a retro version of the black Air Flight 89 mid with nubuck but with a Velcro strap on top of the shoelaces. They are featured on one of the 1992 Footlocker ads with John Stockton advertising the Air Maestros.

Tbh I prefer the OG. The black and gray looks cleaner I feel like the white on the retro is just a little too bright and contrasting.

The collar/ankle shape is the worst part. If the lining was black, I think it would look a lot better.

I’ve been wearing the retro every now and then the past few months. Even though the quality and shape is ass I love the way they look on feet. Wish they’d redo this colorway with the new tweaked shape they recently released

I prefer this model to the AJ4. Always have.
I'm not hating on the 4 as i like them too, and have many in the rotations, but yeah, i prefer the flight 89.
