After Fever GM Lin Dunn selected Iowa guard Caitlin Clark with the top overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she briefly met with local media in Indianapolis before returning to the draft war room.

"Caitlin Clark is coming to Indianapolis,” she said proudly. “She's going to have a huge impact not only our city, but our franchise too."

Dunn didn't draft Clark to use her to win games. She drafted Clark to not get lynched. Sides and Dunn will never run a fast break offense even though they can score almost at will when they do.

This has NOT aged well. Simon, Dunn, Sides, franchise admin, and players are all doing their best (with help from the entire W league) to put Caitlin in her “place”. Worst management I’ve ever seen in a relatively large organization. Disgraceful yet not unexpected.

If ownership hadn't stepped in, she'd have drafted an anthem kneeling activist like Reese, not Clark. You can tell she wants nothing to do with CC.

In all honesty, nothing is going to change. She should have stayed in college for another - she made $3mil last year, she would have at least doubled that in college. She's going to only make $70k in the carpet eating league where they are seriously jealous. The first few games, might be exciting but unfortunately she'll fade away on the court....

I don't know if they really understand what just happened. People will want to see Caitlyn Clark's training facility. They'll want to see the plane she gets on when she's going for a game. They'll want to see the hotel she stays in. I think this league was used to flying under the radar. Those days are over. No one wants to hear about budget limitations. They want to see how well Caitlyn is taken care of.
