NEW STOCK WHEEL BASE S1000RR WORLD RECORD!! 8.72 @ 164mph
Brief look into some projects we’ve been working on behind the scenes with @brocksperf and drag racing team @ttonzy.
After completing several of some of the fastest N/A BMW S1000RR's, all in the high 7 to low 8 ET area, a new sight was set on the new 2020 S1000RR. Given swingarm constraints the BMW was setup to compete in HTP super stock racing, which is designed for stock wheelbase bolt-on strict bikes. This is a perfect series for someone to see what a streetable bike is capable without being cut up to “race only” motorcycle.
Together, BT Moto and Brock' Performance worked together to sweep the chassis and engine for this event, all with products anyone can purchase from either website. Our simple BT Moto OTS (off the shelf) closed loop, Stage 2 performance package boosted the engine power to 215whp (STD), coupled with a Brocks lowering link, strap kit, clutch and a rear sprocket change. Still NA, still completely stock engine.
As you can see the bike is still complete with front and rear lights, normal windscreen and seat. The BMW's first outing went great with a 8.72 @ 164mph. The highest trap for this bike was 168mph. Riders Shayne Proctor and David Albert were trying to learn the bike in a short amount of time (only 4 passes total on the bike with this setup).
Good start of results showing that the BMW platform is a fully capable contender and hopes to return with some new data to chase that 8.6xx. Be on the look out for more videos on this project soon on the Brock's Performance YouTube channel where we go over tuning details and Brock's own impressions of the BMW and where we will go from here.
