So... who's your favorite anemo character and why is it venti /j /j
this video was an excuse for me to talk about sucrose thanks

to add, i feel like character's homelands' element has an effect on the theme their vision's element is meant to represent. for example xiao's freedom is skewed because of liyue's restrictions of contracts, sayu and kazuha wish for a simple freedom that will always stay the same, and jean and sucrose represent venti's concept of freedom in expression.

absolute banger video, anemo supremacy

On my view or opinion, Anemo is also related with loss of a loved one --- Kazuha, Barbatos, Sucrose, Xiao and even the Traveller all have suffered or witnessed the loss of someone dear to them --- specially friends or family. Why? Because since the wind represent freedom, as in free from all attachment --- specially the emotional ones.

My friends and I have an entire google doc based on how to get certain visions. With the help of Inazuma we realized that ambition plus certain character traits towards their ambitions is the key. Resilience, determination, passion are a few of the traits (geo, hydro and Pyro respectively) . We haven’t cracked Electro yet and the only thing we’ve come up with is overcoming great difficulty

There's a ZhongVen fanfic in the AO3 titled Earth and Wind that sums out the freedom that the author understands:

"Freedom without Contract is Anarchy. Contract without Freedom is Slavery."

At least that's what I could paraphrase.

I dont really know why but Anemo seems always accompanied with some kind of loss, melancholy, loneliness or lack of freedom itself. Like as if in order to attain true freedom something must cut out of your life leaving a hole in your past. The loss of friends, the loss of a place to call home, the fight against the daily routine.

Another addition to Xiao and themes of freedom is that he was once enslaved. That past he suffers the debt of was forced onto him. All the cruelty he committed was because he was forced by an ancient god to do so. His loyalty to Morax came from Morax freeing him during the archon war. That karmic debt almost killed Xiao but he was saved by Venti's music.

Anemo is my favourite element. Both aesthetically and in gameplay. It’s fate that brought this video to my feed so quickly.

Also Kazuha is my boyfriend.

i already know this video will be heavily entertaining, with the hint of 4nemo too! i feel quiet bad for the anemo playable charecters in tevyat, but atleast now i know why they have those visions/elements

I find it curious how it's confirmed that the archons aren't the ones destributing visions, yet vision users seem to embody the ideals of the gods. It's not affected by the regions or which gods the users worship, so why is it that each element has a specific criteria?
I heard an interesting theory that celestia is using the archons as templets to decide which people get what visions. Which could make sense? Still ig it's not that simple

i feel like anemo vision is a sign/tool to be free, it’s like venti way of saying ‘take this I hope you can find your freedom’, that’s why every anemo characters was all tied to something or was in struggle (even sayu who cannot lift weapon hence defending herself due to her small body)

I allways though Jean was something like "The protector of freedom", doing everything to make sure her city is free just of love. Love for Monstad, for the people, for the history.

Also, the designs are something to note. Kazuha incorporates both traditional armor and hip-hopy elements, adding to his revelion. Sayu looks like she added some accesories so people maybe wouldn't notice she's still on pijamas, 'couse fashion can't tell her what to do.
And there's also something in Monstad people that just make them look French. I don't know if it's just me, but would fit with the "no monarcs land" thingy
And lastly, to mention that Jeans clothing looks A Lot like Venti's, adding to the fact that she's protecting what he started, that she is continuing that legacy and making it her own.

Tbh not only does freedom have a lot of contradictions, but you can also notice this pattern with *every* archon's ambition. And Venti knows it.

Thank you for this wonderful analysis. Anemo has been one of the most wonderful elements in-game and to see how the element comes to life in each of the playable characters makes them all the more endearing and relatable. The fact that Anemo is the only element that gives us a swirl of reactions shows how much of a free-reactive element it is. The phrase Dainsleif stated about "What does freedom really mean when demanded of you by a god?" shows that there is much more to the word "freedom" than what we usually associate it to. Freedom to do what you love despite others seeing it as shackles from Sucrose's point of view really makes me contemplate it a lot.

Oh my god that sucrose impression was so on point.

Also, analyzing freedom is a bit weird to me. Isn't ambition itself a form of freedom? With that in mind, can it not be said that every character possesses this freedom? Bennet's defiance of his bad luck, Ayaka's decision of growing up in order to help her brother, Xingqiu's defiance of his family responsibilities, xinyan's choice to go against societal norms for her own passion, are all these not freedom?

It also makes me think if visions themselves are a form of freedom. Not just freedom, they feel like they might represent all seven heavenly principles. They at least represent the ones we understand so far.

A vision is the freedom to pursue individual ambition. It is also a contract between an individual and the gods. It is basically eternal as even if the vision bearer dies it still remains intact, and even though it's light fades away, it's possible for someone with a shared ambition to reignite it. As Yae Miko said, "Some ambitions outlive their masters, long after the soul ascends. They remain as they were in the beginning, burning bright and true for all eternity".

As for the other principles, I don't understand what they mean to celestia and to the respective archons. Can ambition be considered a form of "love"? Can it be considered as "just" for the individuals with the greatest ambitions to be bestowed with visions? Why is "war" of all things even considered as a heavenly principle? I don't know and won't know for the next 5 years, but it's fun to speculate until then, and that too is a form of freedom.

Loved the vid tho. I also think I gave you another topic for a video, and it would be really fun to get your thoughts on it.
