How anyone could believe they could understand the universe when each of us is a tiny fraction of it and a short time to observe it. It’s like expecting a single neuron understanding all of the data the nervous system receives.

It's amazing how this seems to be so surprising. Seeing anything from a single perspective or from the same assumptions, no matter how accepted, is often incorrect in the end - or incomplete at best.
It's time to challenge the most basic assumptions from new perspectives. Follow the evidence. Don't let the evidence fit the theories. Obviously, not intended but it still appears to have happened.
