For those interested, in the comics this race was a reoccurring theme. Back in the old days it was indeed Superman who won every time. However, when the Flash died and came back to life he was more in-tune with the speed force and became a great deal faster, able to control the vibrations of even his molecules. From that point forward the Flash won every race.
But for clarity's sake, at no time was it a landslide result. In most cases it was by milliseconds.

After Snyder's cut, there's really no brainer, flash can just reverse time even if superman was ahead .

Flash has always been “the fastest man alive”. Superman even agrees with him. In a comic book he was in a race with Superman and things were getting so fast that at some point Superman told Barry that conceded that he’s faster.

there was an episode of Smallville where Clark and young Flash met as teenagers, at the end of the episode Clark and Flash have a foot race to the state line and Flash was side by side with Clark then his hubris kicked in and turned around racing Clark while running backwards and still Clark barely kept up, then Flash saluted him, turned around again and left Clark with a lightning trail, Clark was in awe of his speed, great scene

The one scene that really would've been perfect for the Snyder Cut. At least this is somewhat canon.

This is one of the only scenes, I really enjoyed of the 2017 Justice League. Its a shame it wasnt included in the Snyder's Cut.
