In the latest issue of Rhythm magazine we celebrate all that is great about the British drum scene. From the British drum builders, to the legends of the Brit scene, right up to the younger faces taking things forward. One of those drummers is Dan Searle or British tech metallers Architects.

Architects released their sixth album in March 2014, with lead single 'Naysayer' showing off Dan's serious chops. Here, Dan plays through 'Naysayer' in full. You can find out how to play the track yourself in our subsequent video lessons.

Dan Searle's drumming is so fucking clean it brings a tear to my eye

He does a lot more with one foot than I would've expected. Many drummers, myself included, would have to employ the double bass more to play the same parts this cleanly. Or maybe not, let the elitist instrumentalists dispute that statement. Dan is a great player, no one can argue with that. Plus Architects rule

Architects were the first band i seen on lockdown being lifted. I jumped and screamed when they supported biffy in Leeds and Belfast while they played, i dont care what music they were playing, they put on a great show, but hearing that interview with sam on BBC broke my damn heart. Theyre doing what they do, and thats all we need.

I met these guys once, I had a bone to pick with Tom. Couldn't tell him apart from Dan so I just left it, haha.

I've always loved this track, it straight rips. Architects is one of the most tight bands I've seen live so it's not a surprise to see plenty of slaying here, as usual :D
