James Eglinton shares what Herman Bavinck would say "Christian worldview" is.

James Eglinton is the Meldrum Senior Lecturer in Reformed Theology at New College, the University of Edinburgh. He is also the translator of 'Christian Worldview'. In this important book, translated into English for the first time, Herman Bavinck provides a framework for understanding why the Christian worldview is the only solution to the discord we feel between ourselves, the world, and God.

In short:

1. Bavinck is more focused on developing a deeper and wider "worldview" over time rather than instantly as can often happen in modern evangelicalism.

2. Bavinck is more focused on the wise and practical application of "worldview" in the whole of our lives.

I don't think very many people, Christian or not, have thought out their World View, but it affects how they relate to their life circumstances and what they know of it or are told by Authorities as Their lot in the world without much analysis. But how do we know if what we think of the world is valid? The truth is a supposition supported by the facts, right? But who's facts?
As a member of a Christian Motorcycle Owners Assn., my bike's custom license plate frame says: "2nd Timothy 3, My Word View." My WV is based on that Bible verse and therefore valid as my filter. And it reflects much of what we face in the world of today.
But does that chrome declaration make me an Evangelical? No. Evangelizing does that.

I’d like to see an example of a modern evangelical quickly “downloading” a worldview. Perhaps some evangelicals (like any other person - Catholic, Reformed, etc.) have an underdeveloped worldview. I’m not sure where he’s going here.
