I'm a Filipina but I feel so sorry for Miss Colombia. That would be so humiliating and devastating. I also don't think she meant any harm on her words. It's just that she have a hard time speaking english and that's understandable. People should stop hating her tbh.

I actually think she should be grateful (not that she isn't) for the mistake. if Steve hadn't made it, she would be simply an insignificant runner up who failed her country HAD he gotten it right the first time and said PIA's name. But now she has so much publicity and is even more famous than Pia. I almost feel like she is getting more attention than she deserves (not that she doesn't deserve it considering what happened) but in the sense that its taking away from the fact that Pia essentially is the real Miss Universe.

Ariadna(2:44): "You (Steve) have to know. I was like talking great things about you like the whole time during rehearsals. I was like saying to everybody like, oh my God I love Steve Harvey! I really did that!"

Steve: Clap clap clap!

Ariadna: "And then you mistaken. I was like why am I talking good about him!?!" XD

That one straight-forward answer made me laugh! It was funny and cute. Steve Harvey you can really really breathe now! ;)

Without this mistake, most of us would've never heard of these women and they would've fizzled into beauty pageant history (except maybe in their home countries). Now the WHOLE WORLD knows them, especially Ariadna. The exposure is priceless and hopefully all the pain she suffered and tears she cried will be for something because of this mistake. Things happen for a reason - it's only a matter of time before all of Ariadna's sacrifices and this stroke of "luck" pay off. I see big things for her. She is already a well spoken, beautiful and resourceful young woman. That together with this unprecedented exposure will pay off big time.

Im hispanic myself and I didn't feel humiliated when that happened. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Its live TV and mistakes happen all the time. Of course we Latinos take Miss Universe way too serious, but her attitude is what really bothered me. Once the mistake was announced and the teleprompter finally showed the name of the winner, and the whole Miss Universe crew was shouting, making signs to you and Paulina (who happen to be Ary's cousin). Paulina instead of taking the crown from you, stood there, smiling awkwardly instead of putting the crown right to the winner. Same as you, stood there awkwardly even when the Miss Universe crew was already giving you directions. As well as being so dry to Pia who wanted to hug you, who even messaged you, who has nothing but kind words for you. Seriously... Really disappointed. Ariadna is such a beautiful woman and has a great body but i cant stand her attitude. Understandable at the moment you could say, but after.. Damn childish.

For all those people complaining about her English and why she had to use an interpreter, give the girl a break! Spanish is her first language, her native language, her mother tongue. She's more comfortable expressing herself in Spanish and she has a wider vocabulary in Spanish than she does in English. Let her be. Quit being such meanies.
