Health science workers promote health and wellness, and learn lifelong career skills.

Use your love of people, health, and science to help keep people healthy and treat those who are not. Care for and work directly with people as a nurse, surgical technician, or medical assistant.

Students in our health classes learn hands-on curriculum in a lab setting, practice their new skills during clinical hours, experience personal growth, learn leadership skills, and begin their path to career success.

Healthcare providers plan, manage, provide medical services, diagnostics services, support services, and biomedical research and development.

To pursue a career in the health industry, students should learn to communicate effectively, make decisions, solve problems, think critically, and learn to reason. Students should recognize that quality healthcare depends on the ability to work will with others while administering quality care to patients.

While attending school, students are encouraged to engage and participate in the Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA.)

Once curriculum and clinicals are complete, students sit for their certification and/or license exams. Central Tech instructors partner with the medical community for clinical hours and encourage graduates to pursue their chosen health career.

Healthcare jobs are found at a variety of locations, most commonly in hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, and nursing homes. However, you could work in a patient’s home, on a cruise ship, or even in a sports arena.
