Building a Hunting Cabin 14: Installing Porch Framing

In this episode of building a hunting cabin, we finally start framing up the porch using the 6x6 S4S Cedar. I love this look and it has kind of become our thing. Also, since we were installing them with 3/8x10
" GRK Structural screws, I figured it was a good time to run some test with current drills on the market. This post frame cabin is getting bigger, and we aren't done yet. Stay tuned and follow along to see it come together!

Great respect for what you are doing to spread knowledge and demonstrate skill. I believe my sons can learn a lot from your videos. Thank you for sharing. A father from Malaysia.

I have both 12V and 20V Dewalt screw guns and drills. There are so.many times I don't need the power of the 20V. and the 12V does it just fine. I love them. Compare it to the old Makita 9V tools and it's amazing. I bought my 9V back in 88 when I was building my 4th house. At that time, it was pretty awesome. One can only imagine where technology will take us.

I was nearly falling off my chair laughing when the 18v dual hammer Makita came close to beating the 36v tripple hammer Metabo.. I love Makita and I just bought the same as in your video here to go on my shelf with all my other Makita. 😎⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻🌹😇🤝

I was thinking that Hunting Cabin was inaccurate but now realise it is a hunting cabin - it's big enough to go hunting in!

I've been binge watching this series. Stellar work fellas! Watching your channel really makes me want to do work like this, but gotta have a team like yours too, though. I'd jump into doing something like this but it is hard to leap from a solid salary to a new field as a noob. If you're ever out in Idaho make sure to mention it, I'd love to buy you guys an 'apple juice'.

It's hard here in Alaska to get "pretty" and untwisted sticks for post and frame, but we always manage to get it looking great, would be great to be able to personally select the ones showing though wouldn't it, put an end to the flip flops go see what else came with the package of timber for better type moments, and a couple hours turn around for a decent replacement if any, anyway I love the work you do there much respect from Alaska guys

Wild, I always looked at Hitachi as disposable tools, yet today I learn it has at least ONE badass tool in its arsenal.

Kyle that is an amazing hunting cabin! What would a hunting lodge look like? I guess a lodge would be beyond huge! Well done! I am looking forward to the next video! Hopefully we can see some footage of the inside when it's done! Thanks for all the cool content & video!
