Intel 4004 (MCS-4) homebrew computer

Intel 4004 の実験用に作っているボードです。9600baudでシリアル通信ができるようになりました。もう少しいろいろ実装してまとまったらブログやgithubに掲載する予定です。

Nice, in the 80's I worked on a particle size analyzer using a laser, and the CPU card was a wire wrapped (by machine) 8008 processor. Yes the machine would make a error once in a while. and sadly for the tech. all white wires were used. fun tracking that down. Cool job ...

Absolutely incredible! I saw this video before, thinking it was a simple 4004 evaluation board, which is already cool. Then, I saw that its actually EMULATING AN 8080? That is incredible! You could possibly even run CP/M on a 4004 with this! It would be the most insane retro thing the hobbyist community had ever seen!

The i4004 cpu in white ceramic ist worth more than 1000€. this is a very expensive gaming setup. A shame that this isnt a nice pcb with sockets but its cool anyway.

The 4004 came out in 1971. Why can't computers made with another half century of technological advancements boot anywhere near as quick as this one using a 4004??
