Health Disparities and the Genetic Underpinnings of Obesity - Kari North

March 10, 2022: In this Genomics and Health Disparities lecture, Kari North, Ph.D., director of the Cardiovascular Disease Genetic Epidemiology Computational Laboratory at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, explains how obesity is a massive public health problem with major disparities. To bolster our understanding of both obesity and disease, she advocates for larger and more inclusive genome-wide association studies of ancestrally diverse populations.
