Maritime Transportation System Cyber Attacks and Mitigation Strategies (3rd of 3 videos)

In this final video in the series on maritime cybersecurity, we review the maritime transportation system (MTS) as a systems of systems; discuss its reliance on information communication technologies; and describe theoretical and actual cyber attacks, in particular, attacks on the Automatic Identification System and Global Navigation Satellite System (e.g., spoofing attacks). Dr. Gary Kessler provides a simulated spoofing attack on AIS, and finally, we provide a broad overview of mitigation strategies for cyber attacks on the maritime transportation system.
This video series is one of several series providing an overview of applications of cybersecurity normally not discussed in information technology or cybersecurity courses (e.g., maritime, aviation, supply chain, etc.).
