Bought this the other week on sale for a door install. Wasn’t sure if I’d need it. Sure enough it came into use. Door installed.

Weekend 2: Then the following weekend I was hanging a tool panel on my garage wall and was able to position this to raise it while I remained completely hands free to check for level and go get the right screws and a step ladder.

Weekend 3: Then I was at a friend’s place hanging a cabinet. The dialogue went as so “here you hold it steady while— what the hell is that thing? Huh!”. Sure enough installed easy peasy. “So I guess I need to get one of those instead of enlisting the help of others around me”.

I’m wrapping up my third weekend owning it and thus far came into use 3 times in very practical (and annoying without) situations.

Update: Weekend 5 used it to hold a shelf for a storage rack I built for my dad. It held one end while I could square up and fasten in the other side

Nice. My first thought is on release an instant drop . Dewalt thought about this so the slow release is good. This is also a problem with ceiling props. You need to hold the prop up when releasing pressure otherwise the whole prop falls and could fall on something.

ALMOST bought the Irwin, glad I waited for the Dewalt, for the handle alone. With the squeeze part on top, you can use your foot and step on it rather than have to squeeze by hand like the Irwin.

They look cool, but I'm a carpenter of 27 years and just can really imagine where I'd need to use these. Certainly never had to hang a door that I needed a lift for, and I hang a lot of FD60's. Plus kitchen unit carcasses are very light so leg adjustments are typically very easy. Been trying to think of all the jobs I've done recently to find an excuse to buy a pair but I'm struggling 😂😂

Dewalt bar clamps can do the exact same thing and are available in much longer lengths than that little what 1ft bar

You can use your foot to raise the DeWalt. Not hard to imagine how that's an advantage over the others.
