The Sum of 5 People - GM14

Are we really the sum of the 5 people we spend the most time with?

It sounds great, but I don't agree 100% with the idea, BUT I do believe we need to surround ourselves with those who are smarter, than us, different than us those who can lift us up and challenge and support us.

We also need to surround ourselves with mentors, those who can help mold us into more successful entrepreneurs, and that applies to ALL of us, regardless of age and experience.

Where do you find those people? That is a challenge, especially for those of us re-inventing ourselves.

I found my new inner circle when I attended some live conferences. The networking opportunities at these conferences far surpass the actual content shared in each one!

One of my (many) issues is how to take a work skill and hobby to a "side hustle" which is in fact going to have to be my "main hustle".
I was in the web field and to be honest most of the internet now bores me to tears or gets me so worked up that I become "Mr Hyde".
So much so that I dumped all social media except YouTube and to be honest I am better for not having all the negative nonsense that "social media" was bringing to the table.
That having been said I have realized that much of what you discuss is also very helpful in real world situations.
So although you are "talking" about online matters a lot of the time, a lot of the concepts you talk about apply to the "mortar and bricks" world in some way or another and for me that helps.
