I think getting a cat or a dog or any animal she likes (I mean the suitable animals as pets) as a companion will be good for her. If she's working from home it would be easier to spend more time with you pet. But even if you have to go to a office or something, if you have a pet you'll still have a someone when you get home, who's looking forward to your arrival, who you can seek comfort from. Or she can find a lover or something. That's also good (as long as that lover is not a toxic piece of shit)
