There's something charming about just how blatantly old magazines would lie and deceive their readers prior to the internet. It's always funny to revisit and be reminded about how lucky we are to have the modern internet at our disposal 24/7 lol

24:59 Legitimately the best acting Dave has ever done on the show!

Also, you can hear Dave drop the magazine at 25:07, then in the next shot he has it in his hand and drops it again.

I enjoyed this episode, it's nice to see you guys switch up the pace now and again and keeps the show fresh.

That Nintendo Power Zelda comic is pretty outstanding. It ran from Volume 32-43 during '92 (I think along with the Mario Bros comic). The artwork is by Manga legend Shotaro Ishinomori who decided to loosely follow the story rather than spoil the game.

... and it was re-released in a large-format paperback in 2015, This is where I got all of the useful info in this comment.

I'm really pissed off that YouTube allowed me to spend a full hour of my life not knowing that a new episode of Game Sack was out. I need my Sack, and I needs it now!

Willy Beamish is enormously interesting! One of my favorite Sega CD games and a charming satire of American life in the late 80's/early 90's.

For anyone who has no idea who or what EGM's Sushi-X was, an easy way to describe him is that he was essentially Deadpool but instead of being a fourth-wall breaking mercenary comic book character, he reviewed video games. His specialty was fighting games, fitting since the character was a ninja.

Next Generation was my favorite. The production was the best of any mag I can remember at times. Thick, high quality paper, top quality photos and those mags have held up the best over time. Still look new today.

There isn't better way to start Sunday morning than watching Game Sack episode about video gamez magazines while enjoying my morning coffee. Oh wait, I can think few better things but this will do, for now.

GamePro was the magazine I'd get after I'd smashed through EGM and C+VG (from Europe) and still had some pocket money left over and wanted to read up on more stuff.

Later on I as I got older Edge and Next Generation were my go to magazines.
Still loved EGM, but those two seemed to suit my tastes more with their more professional and mature approach to articles and interviews.

I love that you guys do what you want and cover the things you care about. Your previous mag episode had less views and response than your usual videos, but we got this sequel anyway, which is fantastic because some of us really are interested in this.

I find it very interesting that Yu Suzuki drove a Diablo and a RX-7 Joe. Man clearly was big pimpin

These episodes are very cool Joe, very nostalgia filled for me. Hate that they didnt get more views, but let me be the voice of the minority in the sack-verse in calling for episode

Those years were truly the golden age of videogames and game magazines. I was always excited whenever there was a new magazine waiting in my mailbox.

Being in Australia, it seems we got the best of both worlds here!

I remember reading C+VG, Electronics Gaming Monthly, Mean Machines, and Edge. I also remember some of the more obscure ones at the time, but can't remember their names. I'll still got most of them somewhere!

I absolutely loved the days of gaming magazines. It's something the younger gamers now just won't experience.

EGM, EGM2, Nintendo Power, Gamepro, Tips & Tricks, Gamefan...just a few of the magazines I got excited for when they hit my mailbox.

Tips and Tricks was probably my favorite magazine as a kid.
