Steam games not starting (error code 80)

How to fix (error code 80)

This is the first time I've ever seen this error on steam, got it when starting Simcity 4 Deluxe for the first time.

Apparently people get this with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3.

This also happens with fallout new Vegas which you seem to have

i cant launch my speed runners and when i try it just doesnt open and it dosent give any warning

On saturday all of my steam based Totalwar games stopped loading with this error code (Error 80).  No idea why i was playing Empire TW just the night before with no problems.  Now none of them will load, and yet every other game in my library is working fine.

A basic restart of Steam seemed to do the trick!

No id didn't work for me.Did everything you said and restarted my pc but I still get this

Didnt work for my Bully: Scholarship Edition, will have to try restarting the PC.

I got error code 86 when I was about to play skyrim not the remastered  but the old one
